Our Strategy

Synthesis prioritizes investments that harmonize societal good and financial gains to make the world a better place: healthier, happier, longer-living consumers and more productive, more efficient, more equitable businesses.

We focus on seed-stage investments in software companies but will selectively invest in consumer and hardware ventures. We lead, co-lead, and follow with checks ranging from $500,000 to $2 million.

Founder-first selection criteria

Mission
Building a business is a long, difficult process. The best founders are those who feel a deep sense of connection to what they are creating and think of it as their life’s work.

Execution
The correlation between strong founders and portfolio winners is unquestionable. Founders who can devise and develop a plan, execute on that plan, and pivot or course-correct as needed are the best stewards of capital and those most likely to be successful.

Impact
Investing in businesses that make the world a better place does not come at the expense of generating superior returns and can actually be an asset that helps drive a company's success, but that goal will never come at the expense of attractive Investment characteristics or limit our Investment universe.
